Waited many months for this post....
A bride from the mainland came to exchange vows with her partner in front of dozens of family and friends who flew to the islands to witness.
Behind closed doors I asked.... "Many big events for you this year....when are you due?" She was a little shocked.... being very trim, not showing at all, she asked, "How do you know, no one but by husband knows?"
The open lei, a gift from her husband, was the give away. This coupled had researched Hawaiian traditions regarding pregnancy. The bride and groom were aware if they were to preform the wedding lei ceremony it is appropriate for their situation that Andrea was to wear an open lei rather than closed lei.
She was happy to find how I knew and that I was the only one at the ceremony that had figured it out. The couple asked if we could do a traditional maternity photo (out of view of her guests) so she could use the photo to share the news when the time was right.
Many months have past since their wedding date. The newlyweds have shared this photo and the family now have a new addition! So this is an older photo but perfect time to share. Congratulations to the growing family!
